From Hungary with love
Svanholm Singers has just returned from Debrecen, Hungary and the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition. Svanholm Singers earned 85.0 points in the finals and thereby won gold in the category of equal voices and a place in Grand Prix. In the awarding ceremony Svanholm Singers was also awarded a special prize for best interpretation of compulsory piece and our conductor Sofia Söderberg Eberhard earned a conductors special prize.
Winner of the Grand Prix was the splendid German choir Consomo.
We had a great time in Debrecen and are already looking forward to our revisit in Hungary in the beginning of November this year.
Release concert at Malmö Opera 27 March

Svanholm Singers in Spain
The choir just returned from a week’s stay in Spain, where they participated in the annual Habaneras competition of Torrevieja, and opened the 10th Festival of Sacred Music in Benicàssim. Svanholm Singers received a third prize in the polyfonic category in Torrevieja, and performed in the final gala, which was broadcasted by TVE in the Spanish speaking parts of the world.

Svanholm Singers album recorded in collaboration with Veljo Tormis has been named “Album of the Year” by music critic David Fanning of the renowned British music magazine Gramophone!
