I read in choralnet about your composition competition. With regard to the lyrics of submission, you did not indicate preference of language for the works submitted. Is there any? Is English allowable? Others?

Hi Erik,
English is certainly allowed! In the competition rules (see Announcement or Rules), this is what we stated: “Lyrics (new or pre-existing) are chosen by the composer, and should bear relevance for our time. For the purpose of spreading of the work, it is important that the language chosen is applicable in an international context. For contributions in other languages, an English translation is required.”

Thank you for your time.

I hope this answers your question.
