It is with pleasure that we announce the winners of the Svanholm Singers Composition Award! The jury, consisting of Robert Sund, Matti Hyökki, and Sofia Söderberg Eberhard, worked in blind, and unanimously awarded Christian Engquist the first prize for “It Is so Peaceful here Now”. Whereas the the contestants literally came from all over the world, it turned out that Christian, who is born in 1979, lived in Lund some years during high school and university studies. Not far away is Dösjebro, where Daniel Hjorth, awarded second prize for “Official Assurances” lives. The third prize goes to Slovenian composer Damijan Močnik, for “Cette immense nuit – oh, where is the light?”.
Read more about the results and presentations of the winners! Also, you are warmly welcome to the concert and award ceremony, in which we celebrate all three composers. The winning piece “It Is so Peaceful here Now” will be premiered, against a background of some music from other modern composers such as e.g. Tormis, Nørgård, Nystedt, and Sandström. Join us at Lund Choral Festival, on Saturday October 20th, 3 pm, at Magle Stora Kyrkogata 4 in Lund!
